OSHAWA - Today, Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, visited Grandview Children's Centre to thank the organization for its work with children in the community and to reaffirm the government's commitment to the centre as it moves forward with plans to build a new head office and children's treatment centre in Ajax.

"Grandview Children's Centre is a leader in delivering and championing special needs services," said MacLeod. "That is why our government is providing the centre with $31 million for the construction of a new, multi-purpose building that will improve the delivery of rehabilitation services and provide wraparound supports for families of children with special needs. We want these services to be easier to access and seamless for children, from their birth through the school years."

Grandview is recognized by the Ontario government for its strong partnerships across both the education and health sectors, which have helped build community capacity and improved outcomes for children.

"In addition to ongoing financial help for the programs and services offered at Grandview, I am delighted to support $31 million in capital funding for the construction of Grandview's new facility," added MacLeod."
